Violinist Rosemary Siemens has performed as soloist and chamber musician, in Canada, the United States, Asia, Israel, Australia, and Europe. Her teachers include Robert Rozek, George Ricci, Andrew Dawes, and Ida Handel.  Rosemary completed her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the University of British Columbia and her Masters in Music in Violin Performance at the University of Miami. While in Miami Rosemary acted as Robert Rozek’s teaching assistant, which gave her the opportunity to teach students at the University and serve as conductor and concertmaster of various orchestras.  Rosemary enjoyed conducting the Florida Youth Orchestra as well as the Lourdes Academy choir.  She was the founding member of the Ibis Trio, which performed recitals in Italy, Switzerland, Serbia and the United States.   For the past three summers Rosemary has studied intensively in Europe.  Here she had the opportunity to teach, perform chamber music as well as solo, with orchestra.  She recently made her debut duo CD called Take My Hand.  Rosemary is currently on faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music.

Ian Parker is emerging as one of Canada's most gifted young artists. Born into a family of pianists, at age twenty-four, he is a winner of many competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2001 Canadian National Music Festival as well as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition.

Winner of the First Prize at CBC's National Radio Competition, Canadian National Music Festival, Corpus Christi International and Montreal Symphony Orchestra competitions.

 DISCOVERY SERIES

The Discovery Series are the educational concerts geared towards Elementary and Middle School children. The concerts are one hour in length.  There are two concerts on Oct.20 and two on April 27, at 10:00 and 11:30. All bookings are made by phoning the ASO office. The cost is $5 per student. There is one free adult admitted per 10 students. Each additional adult pays $5. The general public is welcome to attend, but must call the ASO office to purchase a $5 ticket.
